Job Information/Description 1. Position: Commissioning Engineer
The Commissioning Engineer ensures that steam power plant facilities operate safely and as designed. Based in Nagasaki, the role includes planning and coordinating commissioning activities, resolving technical issues, and supervising on-site commissioning for global projects. Frequent overseas assignments are expected, with future opportunities to work at overseas MHI group offices. Candidates must be able to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and build customer trust. Mechanical or other science majors with strong growth potential are welcome. Key skills include communication ability, resilience, curiosity, MS Office proficiency, and motivation to learn Japanese.

2. Position: Engineer – Instrument & Electric Section
The Instrument & Electric Engineer is responsible for engineering execution of instrument and electrical systems for steam power plants. The role includes in-house engineering, technical coordination, and supervising I&E work at overseas construction and after-service sites. Engineers conduct site surveys, support safe and reliable installation, and collaborate with diverse teams to meet project requirements. Applicants must have an academic background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Information & Communication Engineering. Strong technical understanding, adaptability to international environments, effective communication, and commitment to continuous learning are essential.

The Steam Power Business Division in Nagasaki plays a key role in supplying large-scale thermal power generation systems globally. Within this division, the Construction Department oversees the full on-site construction process for steam power plants, including boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment. Its responsibilities cover pre-construction planning, scheduling, site mobilization, installation supervision, quality assurance, commissioning support, and final handover.

As a core engineering and project execution hub, the Nagasaki Construction Department collaborates with design teams, manufacturing sites, procurement units, and international partners to ensure safe, reliable, and timely project delivery. The team manages subcontractors, evaluates site conditions, ensures compliance with global standards, and works closely with customers across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond. Their mission is to realize high performance, safety excellence, and long-term plant reliability.
